Around 19,000 households in South and East Belfast, Craigavon, and West Fermanagh have been invited to take part in a census rehearsal on Sunday 13 October. If you have received an invitation letter, take part and fill out the questionnaire.
Census planning
The census is usually run every 10 years to provide a comprehensive picture of the population to help shape public services.
The rehearsal is a small-scale version of the full census being planned for March 2021.
It helps to 'fine-tune' planning for the 2021 census and make sure that everything works as efficiently as possible 18 months from now.
Online or on paper
Most householders in rehearsal areas have received a letter with an internet access code to allow them to fill out their questionnaire at this link:
Other householders have received a paper questionnaire which they can fill out and return in the pre-paid envelope provided.
Anyone who wants to get a paper questionnaire should phone 0800 328 2021 - language support is available for those who need it.
You can get help:
through the rehearsal website by contacting the census team
You may fill out your questionnaire before census rehearsal day. If a return is not made by then, you may be visited by a member of census field staff.
